Without feedback people, would have very little idea of how others perceive them or how they are progressing in terms of performance

Feedback is defined as – information about reactions to a product, a person’s performance of a task, etc. which is used as a basis for improvement.

As a Supervisor, you will be able to provide many types of feedback; formal, informal, positive, constructive. You should be mindful of how you are giving the feedback and ‘who’ the person is who is receiving the feedback. Delivering the appropriate type of feedback increases the chance that the receiver will hear, understand, accept, and act on that feedback.

Feedback is important for growth and understanding for your colleagues but also important for yourself. The graphic below represents the impact of receiving and providing useful feedback:
